Last night’s liquor store run was my usual: lottery scratchers (because I’m manifesting millions, obviously) and a new craft beer to try. This time, I grabbed 14 Cannons Peanut Butter Golden Ale. The can promised “nutty chocolate, smooth and bold, peanuts and cacao, a treasure to hold.” Intriguing, but I was skeptical. Peanut butter and chocolate beers are usually stouts or porters, so a golden ale? I was ready for a sugary overload or, worse, post-beer bloat.
Spoiler alert: I was wrong, and by wrong, I mean this shit was good.
A Surprising Balance of Flavor
This beer was smooth, and downright delectable. The peanut butter and cacao hit just the right balance—neither overpowering, both perfectly complementary. It wasn’t heavy or overly sweet, making it ideal for sipping on its own to savor the flavor. And yes, I enjoyed a second round before dinner as an appetizer, because why not?
This was my first time trying something from 14 Cannons Brewery, and it absolutely won’t be my last. Staying #dayclubready means exploring new favorites, and this beer has officially made the cut. If you’re into craft brews that pack flavor without the weight, add this to your list. Cheers to new discoveries! 🍻
