There is something completely underrated about making exactly what I want to eat, pouring myself a glass of red wine, putting on something completely unhinged on Netflix, and calling it a “date”.
This was my Saturday afternoon.

I made my homemade rosemary bread, and while it was baking and making my place smell incredible, I hit Trader Joe’s for the rest of my solo charcuterie situation: Italian dry salami, an olive medley, Toscano cheese with black pepper, and everything I needed to turn an ordinary Saturday into an extraordinary date.
For the wine, I went with a Chianti Classico Riserva. It ended up being such a good choice with the salty salami, briny olives, peppery Toscano and warm rosemary bread. The Chianti had enough acidity to balance all that richness without taking over the entire board.

Date Day, Party of One
My entertainment for this particular Saturday date day? Netflix’s Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Beyond darker than I could ever imagine. I won’t comment further.
Anyhow…

Romanticize Not Sharing Your Charcuterie Board
And I mean that literally.
I keep seeing the whole “romanticize your life” thing, and I’m fully on board but somewhere along the way we’ve got to discuss romanticizing not sharing your charcuterie board with anyone.
Because hello?
You’re not supposed to.
(At least not in my book.)

Sometimes self-worship looks glamorous. Sometimes it looks like taking yourself somewhere expensive. And sometimes it looks like sitting at home on a Saturday with your homemade rosemary bread, Toscano cheese, Italian salami, olives and a generous glass of Chianti while Netflix asks, “Are you still watching?”
