I’ve never had a problem taking myself out—it’s called a solo icon energy date, and I recommend it to every woman who needs a reminder that she/YOU are the vibe. I’m obsessed with myself (and you should be too). That’s exactly why this made it onto my FW26 syllabus: more women need to take time out for themselves, glam up, and make memories that don’t require a plus-one. My latest? A custom lipstick adventure at Lip Lab at the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, CA.
The Lip Lab Experience
The Lip Lab storefront is bright, modern, and practically begs you to play beauty chemist. You pick your finish (matte, satin, or sheer), your artist blends shades until you hit the perfect match, then you add a scent—mine was dark chocolate espresso, which smelled so fucking good. The final touch is engraving your name on the tube for that personal edge. I left with one custom lipstick and a gloss, both sleek and ready to live in my bag. My lipstick shade is a deeper nude that hits the sweet spot between mocha and rose—what I’m calling Espresso Blush Nude. It’s richer than your basic pinky nude but still soft enough for everyday wear, and exactly the kind of energy FW26 demands.

To Sum It Up Babes…
Yesenia, my Lip Lab artist, was magic at helping me narrow down what worked best for my vibe. The matte wasn’t heavy or drying, and layering the gloss gave me options to switch it up. That said, I’ll probably leave lip color creation to the Lip Lab pros and keep Nyx, Melt Cosmetics, and Morphe in my daily rotation—don’t fix what isn’t broken, right?
FW26 is darker lips—for me at least, bolder energy, and unapologetic self-worship. My Lip Lab solo date was the perfect seasonal kickoff—a reminder that taking yourself out is the most iconic flex there is. 💋
