Earlier this month, Universal re-released Jaws for its 50th anniversary. FIFTY FUCKING YEARS. FIFTY! Steven Spielberg dropped this shark-sized cultural reset before most of you were even born—I was 1 ½ at the time so of course, I didn’t see it in the theater 😂. But growing up, I devoured it every way possible: VHS, TV reruns, DVDs, and later streaming. It’s that movie you think you know front to back… until you see it on the big screen.

My Solo Icon Energy Date
Obviously, I made it an event. Chili’s fajitas + Modelo were the pregame (corn tortillas forever, do NOT @ me). Then, I strolled into the theater, picked up a popcorn and Diet Cherry Coke, and—because this is Dayclub SEAZN—my TSA-sized travel bottle filled with Absolut Vanilia snuck into the mix.
The movie was showing in regular and in 3D… guess which one I chose? Yup. 3D. First time seeing Jaws like that, and let me tell you, the ocean scenes were next-level wild.
Nostalgia, But Make It Fresh
Here’s the gag: even knowing every line, every scene, every kill… it felt like my first time watching. When Richard Dreyfuss went underwater and that dead body’s head popped out of the wreck? I jumped out of my seat and almost screamed. HOW after all these years did it still get me? Theater energy just hits different, and the 3D effects made it iconic and SO MUCH FUCKING FUN.

If you missed the re-release, don’t stress—Jaws is streaming on Peacock. And if you’re following along with the FW26 September Syllabus, this shark-sized classic is non-negotiable on your cozy leisure checklist. I’m dropping the free download again below for anyone who hasn’t grabbed it yet—because FW26 isn’t just about sweaters and soup, it’s about locking into your most leisure-est, max cozy lifestyle with iconic cultural moments like this.
