FW26 February Wrap-Up: Self-Nominating Vibes, New Chapters, Desert Nights

February is the shortest month of the year and somehow it still said, oh you thought you were resting? Too fucking cute.

This was the final month of Dayclub SEAZN FW26. The theme was SELF-NOMINATE. And when I tell you I did not just write that theme, I lived it… I meant it.

At the top of 2025, I needed a break from writing and self publishing as Baroque Medusa. So I got busy building up Dayclub SEAZN.

The vibe.
The visuals.
The voice.

Now for 2026, the pendulum is swinging back.

My focus is returning to writing and publishing under Baroque Medusa, publishing for others + signing new writers under Baroque Medusa Media, and expanding my art through Abstract Distortions. Dayclub SEAZN is not disappearing. It is just not the main character in 2026.

SELF-NOMINATE: The Energy Shift Was Real

February brought FW26 full circle.

When I look back over the month, I see one thing clearly. I stepped into self-nomination mode in every area of my life.

It started with my bestie basically put me in a choke hold, “You are an artist”. I had no choice but to repeat her words and claim it.

For a while now I have been taking photographs. Sometimes of myself. Sometimes of random objects. Then I chop them up, distort them, layer them, and rebuild them into something entirely different. Something that started as a vision in my head. A digital photomontage artist. That is what I am.

I even opened an Etsy shop. Next step is getting my work on canvas. Because why stop? Exactly.

Every piece I create now feels louder. My energy feels louder. I cheer for myself louder now than before.

Creating Non Stop: From Valentine Chaos to New Authors

If February had a soundtrack, it would be keyboard clicks and Canva tabs open at 4 AM.

I focused heavily on creating and writing this month. I finalized and prepped As a Courtesy…, strategically dropping it on the Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse because of course I did.

Sidenote: As a Courtesy… has already racked up 4.11 stars on Goodreads, which feels damn good for a psychological horror chapbook. ⭐⭐⭐⭐‼️

At the same time, I was building out blog content, designing social media graphics, and creating digital visuals that actually match the tone of what I am publishing. If I am going to release something into the world, the visuals better carry the same energy as the words.

To quote my favorite 90s East Coast rapper, Big Daddy Kane, “Ain’t no half stepping.”

Then there was the most fun project of the month.

I randomly posted on social media: “SEND ME YOUR FUCKING SELFIE!” No context. No explanation.

Eleven people trusted me. Eleven people sent photos.

I created eleven adult Valentine’s Day cards with full grade school aesthetic energy. Construction paper vibes. Silly phrases. But grown. It was called A Valentine, Reimagined.

Completely impulsive.
Completely on brand.
Completely fun.

And somewhere between designing Valentines and editing content, I met with a new indie writer over Trader Joe’s pita crackers and olive tapenade.

We talked genre.
We talked voice.
We talked long term vision.

Baroque Medusa Media has officially signed our second author!!!

Desert Nights, Scream Queens, and My New Binge Obsession

In the middle of all this productivity, I still found time to rot in the best way possible.

I binged The Lincoln Lawyer in eight days. Four seasons. Gone. Neve Campbell is flawless as always. Becki Newton from Ugly Betty is in it too and she is magnetic.

Sidenote: Shout out to both of these women for keeping their natural faces and not caving to filler culture. It is refreshing. It is powerful. It is real.

Season four just dropped, which of course means I now have to sit here and wait an entire fucking year for season five. The audacity!

Speaking of Neve, Scream 7 releases this Friday. My second favorite horror franchise after Halloween. The trailers look promising.

Please don’t put me to sleep like Scream VI did. 🙏

The Desert Is My Sanctuary

I am still in awe that I live here.

As I’ve said before, I always thought I was an ocean girl. Absolutely not. The healing magic out here is un-fucking-real. Every night I walk my pup in zero light pollution. Every night it feels like I am the only human under the moon and stars.

The silence is so loud.
Desolation is sacred.
The night sky is my sanctuary.

February full moon glowing over the desert night sky with zero light pollution
February’s Full Moon glowing over the desert in complete silence.
No city lights. No noise. Just magic.

February was busy.
February was creative.
February was expansive.
February was mine for the taking.

And I’m just getting started.
